Shields
The Rounding Boards of the carousel are locked in place by Shields, which also cover the gap where the boards meet. The originals were large wooden art deco style jobs fitted for large light bulbs which are no longer made. We saved the locking hardware and applied it to a slimmer plaque design which would be easier to embellish with paint. I chose Virginia Wildflowers as the theme- my love of plants having been nurtured by working with them at Back Home on the Farm’s greenhouse.
